Whole30 Day 10

Breakfast:

Smoothie- cherries, banana, almond milk, chias, and kale.  It looked like mud but tasted delicious.

Plus a snack pack of olives about an hour later.

Lunch:
Y'all I cheated... Well kind of?

I took squirrel to get her ears pierced...

She was determined to do it so I took her.  It was pretty traumatic but she was good a second later.

Since she was so good I took her to chick-fila for lunch.  I was starving and didn't plan well.

I don't like salads but it was the only almost whole30 option.  I got the closest stuff I could and picked around the blue cheese.  I was hungry like two seconds after eating this... One of the reasons I don't like salad.  They aren't satisfying.

When I got home I snacked on some cashews.

Dinner:

I got some ground goat a couple of weeks ago from the farmers market.  The butcher told me to use it just like beef... So I did.

I made a southwestern frittata with kale.

I ate a double serving with fresh salsa and avocado.  The goat is good!  It does taste slightly goaty but it's good!

Plus endless watermelon for dessert!

How do you deal with being unprepared?

That smoothie sounds so good! I try to be prepared but sometimes I'm out longer than I think and in the end I'm starving and could eat just about anything. Salads don't often fill me up either. Hey good job on careful ordering, I may have ordered fried with that ;-)

Being prepared is so important... but getting busy or caught up in something is life. Especially as a busy mom! Which is why I didn't feel too bad getting the salad. :)

I don't know how people eat fast food. It makes me feel so gross! I actually haven't had it in 5 years!

It makes me feel gross too. Well the salad didn't because it was basically grilled chicken and lettuce. Once in awhile we get fast food...

I borrowed (stole) a vacuum sealer from my parents and made my own "paleo packs" with jerky, almonds, macadamia nuts, dried mango, and dried cranberries and carry one with me wherever I go in case of emergencies. I don't eat them often, but they're a good backup to ward off crankiness and dizziness if I'm out all day and can't find a paleo option. They're also a lifesaver on long plane trips!

I always have some type of bar in my bag, for when there are zero gluten-free options. If you get stuck at Chick fil A again, another good option is the grilled chicken nuggets with a fruit cup. They don't normally show the grilled nuggets on the adult menu, just on the kids, so it's not as obvious a choice.

Ahhhh!! GENIUS! Why didn't I think of that. We never really eat out so I'm always thrown off!

Kristen said...

Oh man! I need to do that. I actually never thought of using the vacuum sealer :)

You did the best you could. Sounds successful to me :) The ear piercing is a bit traumatic, but it's over fast. She looks so cute!
Glad the goat frittata turned out well. Yum!

I wonder what "goaty" tastes like? LOL. And you did a great job with the salad, I would have totally got their chicken sandwich - love them.

You did the best you could which is great! Are you feeling better or have more energy since starting this whole 30?

chick fil a has a salad with sunflower seeds that is more filling I think. although if we are out and unprepared we usually just wait until we return home or run in a grocery store on road trips instead of fast food and pick up stuff really quick. That frittata looks so good!

I feel a lot better this time around! Maybe because I'm used to it?
