Breakfast:
Coffee with almond milk
and a paleo pancake with banana, blackberries, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and unsweetened coconut.
Gym: Body combat!
Lunch:
Local breakfast pork sausage (ground pork with seasonings- I get it at Whole Foods already packaged up!), local bacon, and Whole Foods pineapple mango salsa. All wrapped up in a butter lettuce leaf. Holy yum. Pork sliders! I'm on a slider kick apparently!
Dinner:
Alright this was last night's dinner but I had to share it with you!
Grass fed braised short ribs made by the hubs. He followed this recipe and it took two days... (I don't have time for that crap).
Plus his green beans. It was our first time making short ribs and boy were they delicious!
Have you ever been scared to try a recipe? If so, which one?

Hi, I live in a place where there is nothing "local" or "grass fed" or antibiotic free. It's all just "grain fed" and mass produced in big plants :(
Not sure what to do. I can get some "wild salmon" fillets at Costco, canned fishes, and in terms of chicken/turkey...I'm screwed. Should I just eat it anyway? My family just buys it and roasts it in the oven, skin-on....is it okay if its cooked with skin on or does that mean the "toxins" etc seep through it whilst cooking? Because I've heard some people say they can only afford or find grain-fed, so they just eat the "lean" parts. I worry I'm going to "contaminate" my body by eating this crap stuff. But the alternative is just to eat a lot of fish and eggs...THANKS for any perspective on this.
Also, can you give a blogroll? You seem to have a good idea of good blogs to go to, so I'd be interested to see your regular reads.
I'm with you....I don't have time for that crap either! Two days!! Crazy talk! lol
They do look amazing though :)
Every time I make a new recipe I get nervous. I'm not the best cook. I've def improved over the years I've been married, but I don't think I'm great or anything. I depend on recipes with lots of good reviews so that I increase my chances of it turning out good!
I do the same thing! My first stop for recipes is allrecipes because they have te reviews!
Wow! All of your eats look so good!! I love short ribs. Question... did you foam your almond milk?
oh man...that dinner looks awesome!
@Kerry @ Totes My Oats Nope! I just shake the container really hard to make it foamy. It works :)
I'm scared all the time! I can't tell you how often I decide not to make something based on ingredients I don't own, the number of ingredients in the list, the number of steps involved, the number of dishes that have to be dirtied, and the time commitment involved. But when I do venture into something I usually wouldn't, I'm SO proud of myself. :) Like when I made the french onion soup that I posted about--I'm still patting myself on the back for that one. lol.
@livingthesweetlifestl Thanks! It was awesome! I was spoiled to have my husband home to cook dinner.
@Anonymous So many questions! I think my best advice would be to not give up your search on grass fed meat. They do say to eat a leaner cut. Check out this post from The Primal Toad:

You can also order grass fed beef online!
I really don't know much about the scientific part of paleo but I'm learning! Especially through questions like these. It gives me something to research.
@Anonymous My blogroll..... Hmm... Maybe I'll write a post on that soon?
Thanks, but the province where I live is very secluded and limited. There's no such thing as grass fed. And I am financially strapped, so it's not like I can order. I'm so unsure...just eat the turkey or not...apparently in "It Starts With Food" they say if you don't have access to "good" stuff then trim the fat and eat the lean parts of the meat/chicken or whatever (apparently the toxins reside in the fatty parts). Whereas if it is grassfed or the "good" kind, then they say to go ahead and eat the fat because it is a good quality...
but still if my mother "must" cook the stupid chickens and turkeys WITH skin on...is it too late, like would it "seep " through. I have no idea. Oh my nerves :)
Last January, I cooked beef for the first time (and have only done it one time since)! It scares me so much, haha. I'm worried about accidentally over- or under-cooking it because I have the hardest time telling when it's done.
