Five Favorites Friday: Fitness Gear

I thought having a Friday favorites would be fun! I love it when people post favorite things. It makes people aware of products, recipes, blogs, and it helps you get to know the blogger a little better.

It was really easy narrowing down my favorite fitness items.  These are the things I have with me every time I go to the gym.

1- I use my Iphone for so many fitness and nutrition things.  I have an interval app and a food diary app.  I listen to music and podcasts on it.  I keep up with all of your food blogs on it.  It also keeps me entertained between sets when I lift weights.

2- My CamelBak water bottle is the best water bottle I've had.  I've had quite a few different ones and this one is my favorite!  It also holds my lock.  Multipurpose!

3- I have quite a few fitness brand clothing items.  Nike, Under Armour, Reebok... My favorite thing to wear to the gym are my old navy running shorts.  They are so soft and comfortable.  Plus I got all three pairs for $4.99 a piece!

4-  I have been wearing Mizuno running shoes for 7 years.  Last month I tried on a pair of Brooks just because.  My life was changed!

5- I use my Iphone when I run on the treadmill but I use my Ipod shuffle when I lift weights.  I love that I clips to me so I am hands free and I don't have to wear an armband.

What are your five favorite fitness items?
I'll let you know what my five favorites will be every Thursday.

I am loving all the fitness apps I have on my phone - but one is called HIIT - I can set the intervals, warm up, cool down, and it whistles when it's time to switch. Love it!

Have a great weekend!

I love my shuffle, iPhone and Old Navy shorts too. I am an Asics shoe person myself but might try some Brooks now... seeing as how we're basically identical it seems lol.
I also love my Vibram five finger shoes especially for walking and strength workouts.

I used to always use my phone for music at the gym but it's a pain with weightlifting so my brother got me a shuffle for Christmas. I am in love! I use it for running right now because it is so much more comfy to have that clipped on me than have my armband on!

Funny--I do the same as you--my iPhone for on the treadmill, and my clip-on iPod for lifting. :) Great minds think alike!

My favorite fitness item is my heart rate monitor. I guess I'm just a numbers-geek!

I LOVE my Camelback water bottle. I literally take it with me everywhere. I am not the greatest at "remembering" to drink water, so I have found that keeping my water bottle with me at all times really helps. I am also loving Old Navy's running shorts. They are so cute and bright and SO comfy!

@Hannah @ CleanEatingVeggieGirl Me either! That water bottle makes me drink water all the time though :)

Regarding your other post: how to
1) perfectly make an egg in pan (kinda runny yolk maybe...i guess sunny side up, not sure of the name, but the egg, ha)
2) perfect hardboiled eggs
3) perfect scrambled eggs
4) and HOW to microwave an egg..other bloggers seem to do it...i do it and the white is ready before the yolk, so the white "explodes' and the yolk is either raw or i keep nuking it and then gets rubbery.
And by "perfect" i guess I mean prepared healthily since I know that the way you prepare a food can actually ruin the health of it and render the "healthY" food pretty useless.

What health books would u recomend? For a KOBO maybe or I guess in real book. I want something cheap, maybe paleo...I am not into "complex" recipes or something...not sure
- practical paleo?
- it starts with food?
- this new one called "The Plan" that actually sounds great to maybe fix my digestion
- other paleo ones
- newest cookbook from Natalia Rose (fresh, healthy vibrant recipes

I can only afford one...info, recipes, not sure what I'm looking for...maybe "plans" but I'm not paleo and onnly curious at this point. Okay, thanks. Cheap would be cool.

I'd recommend any type of paleo cookbook only because you can do most scientific research online. No need to spend the money on a book for something you can google. Practical Paleo is great. Well Fed is good too but the recipes are a little different and might include ingredients you may not have. It Starts With Food is more of a "why" and "how" book. Why you eat the way you do. Practical paleo would be my recommendation. It has some of the "why's" but is mostly simple recipes like kale chips. :)

I've been thinking about getting a Camelback... what makes it your favorite? The only thing that I don't like about it (just while researching) is that it seems small to me. I could go through one so easily!

I don't have a list, but my sneakers and orthotics are the key to it all. I'm going to look at Brooks again.

I have been going without music while lifting weights because I always get so tangled!

Kristen @ Change of Pace said...

I get tangled sometimes but a lot of times I wear headphones so no one talks to me ;)
